A couple Tellmanism’s on list building, leads and relationships….
The difference between a lead and a list is that with a list,
you build a relationship.
With a lead,
it’s like a one night stand.
Never buy leads.
Build a list to build a long-term relationship with people
so
you can sell them whatever products you’d like over time.
Doing something to get in and get out to make a buck is lame.
You’ll never be wealthy that way.
HTML code.
is easier than you think!
Yes!
It stands for
Hyper Text Markup Language
..because you are literally “marking up” blocks of text.
To do this you need to place a “tag” before and after the text you are formatting.
A “tag” is text placed inside chevron brackets, for example:
<tag name>
When you are writing HTML, there is an “opening” tag and an “end” tag.
You can tell the difference because an “end” tag will have / after the first chevron, for example:
</end tag>
Starting to make more sense, right?
…because you are a list building ninja.
OK, so know let’s see an example of how HTML works:
If we wanted to make part of a block of text appear in Bold
Here’s what it would look like:
<strong>This text will appear in bold</strong>
If you put this in a browser it would look like this:
This text will appear in bold
In HTML language we just wrote the HTML tag for making text bold.
The “opening” tag is telling the browser to put any text that comes after it in bold.
The “end” tag is telling the browser to stop making everything bold.
Make sense?
Not as difficult as you thought.
All this HTML code is is a bunch of text wrapped in different tags.
Now, you are really kicking ninja butt with your list building.
Wishing all your list building dreams come true,
Tellman’s Apprentice
Your list building is going quite well.
Until…
You hear the letters…
….. HTML…..
You cringe.
You want to run, run, run away.
But wait!!
Stop those feet!!
List building can still happen even with those scary letters.
Today we have wonderful web page editing programs, which will help you.
But…..
What do you do when you reached the end of the program’s capabilities?
You write a kick butt webpage in Dreamweaver.
You upload it to your webpage.
And none of your pictures show up
Or how about when you try to add an autoresponder to your website?
Do you get a little squimish when you see all that code messiness?
And they try to tell you it is simple all you have to do is copy and paste.
But…
Where do you paste?
Ahhhh!
Now, before you give up on your list building dreams.
Relax.
Take a deep breath.
You have 2 options.
1. Hire a professional webmaster geek.
2. Learn ONLY the basics.
Even if you go with option 1, we say learn some HTML too.
This will help you to communicate better with your webmaster and get more bang for your buck.
The best news is HTML is not as scary as you may think.
Check tomorrow’s blog to find out what exactly HTML is.
In the mean time continue that list building.
Sincerely,

It is time to take our list building to the next level….
It is time to do some copy writing!
Here are the 3 points you need to hit when communicating with your list:
1. Here’s what I got.
2. Here’s what it will do for you.
3. Here’s what to do next.
……………………………………………………………..
1. Here’s what I got:
The very first part of your offer should be telling the reader what you got.
Make sure to do this in a way that captures their interest so they will keep reading
and ultimately purchase your product or service.
2. Here’s what it will do for you:
After you tell them what you got, you want to tell your reader what the product/service will do for them.
Your readers want to know how this product/service will benefit them.
(which is good, because you are going to tell them)
You can be very literal and straight-forward in your writing.
Use phrases such as:
“This product will put you in the driver’s seat, and takes all the “guesswork” out of list building.”
3. Here’s what to do next:
This section of your copy needs to be SUPER CLEAR!
This will be the piece that asks your reader to do something specific.
Don’t be afraid to be extremely direct when telling your reader what you want them to do.
The whole point of you writing copy is for your reader to take the action you want them to take.
Use phrases such as:
“Here’s what to do now..”
“Sign up below, right now’
“Fill out the form below and I’ll send you your list building videos immediately!”
***Always make sure your copy has a call to action and inform your reader of what you want them to do***
Till next time,
Tellman’s Apprentice
So, your list building skills are continually improving.
Therefore, your list is getting bigger.
What is the next step in your list building adventure?
The next step is to start making some money.
How?
By selling affiliate products.
Why affiliate products?
Because….
These products are already done!
Completed!
Finito!
No need for you to come up with the content, fulfillment, downloads, etc.
It eliminates a TON of work for you.
Which is a great thing!
Don’t you think?
So, next step.
Pick the product that you want to sell.
You MUST make sure the product you promote is a product that has to do with your niche.
You do not want to promote a beef product to a list of vegetarians.
That would not go over well and you would definitely lose your list of vegetarians!
Make sense?
Pick products that are in your niche.
Highly important to do this.
Another important thing to remember is to try the product yourself.
You want to be knowledgeable about the product you are promoting.
You want to make sure that it is something that you think is valuable and that your list would benefit from.
It will also help you write copy.
So, now you know what you need to do.
Next step, where can you find the products?
There are many sites out there.
Some of our favorites are ClickBank, PayDotCom and Commission Junction.
Remember how well the product will sell depends on how well it fits with your niche.
Very important.
Very, very important.
If you haven’t gotten it yet, this is very important.
You see this list building thing isn’t so hard.
Is it?
Till next time,
